Tips for Local Business

Thanks for requesting my 2 Free Tips for Local Marketing for your Business. If you own a local business then these tips can really help your business and they are completely free. If you are seeing this page I assume that you use gmail or have a gmail account. You may have google apps for business or created an account with other email address. If you have reached this page and do not have gmail yet, I highly recommend getting that account set-up first.

Before You Begin, Make sure you have are able to answer the telephone number connected with your business. This would be the business telephone number associated with your local listings in the phone book. Some of these methods may require phone verification.

Tip #1 – Claim Your Google Business Listing and/or Business Page

Login to your google account with your gmail address if you are not already logged in. Check by going to Google.com and looking on the top right side. Do you see your name as being logged in?

Visit this page > maps.google.com search for your company’s name city and state.. hopefully you see something like this page below – if you don’t see your company listed, you will need add your business to Google.

Click on your listing and you should see a pop-up on the right side in the map, click on the more info link

Once you get to your page, look for the manage this page link on the lower right side

click on that link and follow instructions to claim your business page.

Tip #2 – Claim Your Yelp Business Listing

Visit Yelp.com and search for your business in your city location

If you see your business, click on the link and then click on the “Work Here? Claim this Business” link, follow instructions and get your business updated.

If you don”t see your business, add your business listing to yelp.com.
look for this block on the lower right of the page
